Hi, I’m Nick Trolian, Franchise Advisor at Franchise Sidekick. My career has been dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and franchise owners achieve success.
I’ve worked with both national brands and boutique concepts, supporting the growth of hundreds of franchise locations by guiding people through every stage of the franchise journey—whether it’s exploring ownership, opening new locations, or scaling to greater profitability.
I started in fitness franchising and quickly discovered my passion for the industry and the unique opportunities it creates for people to build businesses of their own. Since then, I’ve led franchise development pipelines, overseen sales and operations teams, and partnered directly with franchisees to drive meaningful results. I’ve also played a key role in expanding brand portfolios, helping integrate and grow new concepts within established franchise systems.
What motivates me most is seeing people achieve their goals. I take pride in not just connecting people with the right opportunities, but also ensuring franchise owners have the tools, support, and strategies to thrive long after their doors open.

What do you love about franchising?
I love franchising because it gives people the opportunity to build their own business while minimizing risk, leveraging a proven system, and drawing on the guidance and support of a dedicated corporate team every step of the way.
What do you love about working with clients?
I love helping clients see that business ownership isn’t a distant dream—it’s achievable today. Guiding them to turn their goals into real results and watching someone go after more in their career or life is incredibly rewarding.
Tell us a little about yourself!
Educational Background - I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There I also competed as an NCAA Division II student-athlete (Football). Professional Background - My career in franchising began shortly after graduation with Planet Fitness. What started as a temporary “bridge” role quickly evolved into a Multi-Unit Operations Manager position for a franchisee operating nearly 100 locations. This experience provided me with my first exposure to franchising and sparked my passion for the industry. Following Planet, I transitioned to the boutique fitness sector with D1 Training, serving as a Franchise Business Coach. In this role, I supported franchise owners in growing and scaling their businesses while also contributing to the franchisor’s expansion through private equity. With my foundation in franchising firmly established, I advanced to Extraordinary Brands as Director of Franchise Sales & Operations. There, I led the franchise development department, managed a team of business coaches, and played a key role in onboarding new brands as the company expanded its portfolio.
