Scott Harrick
Whether negotiating leases, creating targeted marketing campaigns, or mentoring business owners, I am motivated by a desire to help businesses and people thrive and achieve their full potential. What sets me apart is an entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to excellence with over 25 years of experience in business development, franchise operations, and strategic leadership.
In my current role as CFO of KBIZ, Inc., I have successfully helped grow the Stretch Zone Kansas City market from inception to six locations in just four years. This achievement earned us the 2022 Franchisee of the Year Award and a seat on the Franchise Advisory Council. A strategic approach to lease negotiations, marketing initiatives, and recruiting has been pivotal in establishing a thriving multi-unit franchise operation. Additionally, I have a proven track record of successfully acquiring and selling franchise units in competitive markets such as Florida and Texas.
Previously, as the President and CEO of P16-9, Inc. dba Smoothie King, we expanded operations from zero to four units within two years through acquisitions and new unit development. This role honed my expertise in client acquisition, expense management, and marketing strategies, resulting in consistent recognition, including the prestigious Kings Club Award for all four years it was available.
Beyond my franchise experience, I have held key roles at Allstate Insurance Company and Brooke Franchise Corporation, where I was able to develop exceptional skills in recruiting, training, and developing new business owners.

Tell us a little about yourself!
Attended Mississippi State University to run cross country and studied exercise science. Started my first company there distributing Coffee via Amway's drop ship program. Sold that to another college kid when I left. After college, became a personal trainer and semi-professional bicycle racer that traveled to Europe to race. Then worked for Stairmaster Sports Medical as a territory rep for the GSA markets in AZ and NV. Moved to KC in 2000 to open our first franchise The Little Gym which we sold after 4 years and I went into leadership with Allstate corporation where I was Life and Health, P&C licensed as well as had my Series 6 and 54 license for 2 years then purchased 2 Smoothie King locations and built 2 more over the course of 8 years and then sold those to then open Stretch Zone studios in KC where we have 6 within 4 years.
Favorite sidekick?
Tough. I have said piglet before because he was always by Pooh's side to help him find his way. BUT, I am also going to say Silver Surfer even though he was the sidekick to a monster known as Galactus, he gave up his current life to save his world and the ones he loved and in returned used that position to save other inhabited worlds as well steering the monster to non populated worlds the best he could.
